Done! - From Hari

A big hello to all MASM people! I just defended today (passed with minor revisions) and thought I'd pass on the good news to all of you! When I was young, those around me often said: "Hari is always in a hurry!" And today, when I went through my presentation at express pace, I must have seemed in a big hurry to finish things off :) I feel relieved now that it's all done. Hope to post lots of things on this blog: thoughts on past experiences at MASM, travel notes on the places I visit, and more.

Introducing...Dr. Balasubramanian

I think Hari is planning to post something himself later on, but I wanted to just make a quick posting to say congratulations to Hari. He had his PhD defense this morning and did very well, passing with only very minor revisions. Good job, Hari!

And for the rest of us still in the lab...now the race is on to see who will be next to defend... :)

About our blog...

Hi there everyone. We've been pretty lucky to have a great group of friends from the lab during the past 4 - 5 years, and we all have a lot of fun memories from our time here at ASU. Most folks have moved on to new jobs, new cities, new countries, leaving just a few of us (Menkes, me, Baris, Detlef, Burcu) to be the "Last of the Mohicans." But even *we* will be outta here within the next year or so, assuming all goes as planned... :) Anyway, with the departures of the latest round of folks, we decided we needed a better way to keep in touch with everyone. So, we've put together this blog. The idea is to use it to post anything you'd like about what's going on with your life: tell us what you're doing these days, put up pictures of your family, pictures of where you live..anything. We all just want to know how everyone else is doing and what we're all up to. Those of us who are still around ASU will do our best to put a post up every now and again to keep you up to date with what's going on around here.

To make posts, you have to be a member. I tried to invite everyone who I could think of (and who's email address I still have), and as soon as you accept the invitation (and create an account if you didn't already have one), you're a member. To make posts yourself, you just go to www.blogger.com, then sign in, and you're all set. If you have trouble figuring out how to do something, you can always go to http://help.blogger.com, and you should be able to figure out what you need.

Oh, and the last thing I guess we should all know is that the blog is published to http://asumasm.blogspot.com. So...happy posting...we'll look forward to hearing from you.
